Talawatugoda Biodiversity Study Park, Being a wetland, this park serves home to many different animals and marshy plants, especially temporary homes for migratory birds. Giving home to more than 50 species of wetland birds, over 25 butterfly species, many types of fishes, dragonflies, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and many terrestrial and aquatic plant species, this park indicates high biodiversity value especially remarking the value of urban wildlife. It contains a study center, open study area, board walks for walking through the wetland, butterfly garden, bird watching tower and bird hide, ground water wells, a laboratory, a herbarium, children’s pond, wetland agriculture area, rush and reed pond, audio video room and boat riding facilities.
Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanical Garden, is a botanical garden located in Sri Lanka which mainly serves as a research area and a conservation area for threatened and vulnerable endemic plant species in the Sinharaja Rain Forest region. Seethawaka Botanical Garden is situated adjacent to the Indikada Mukalana Forest Reserve at Avissawella and garden has a cool temperate climate. A beautiful stream flows through the garden, which sustains the existence of various wet zone plants. The tree cover is made up of large Terminalia arjuna trees.

Kitulgala is in the wet zone rain forest in Sri Lanka which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in the country. Large numbers of people visit Kitulgala to enjoy the beautiful scenery, play in the river, and have an excellent rice and curry lunch at the local restaurants. Kitulgala is the very famous base for Adventure tourism activities and bird watching in the country and specially popular for white-water rafting which starts a few kilometers upstream. The Kelani river is wide at Kitulgala, but it is shallow apart from a deep channel near the opposite bank, so it provides a safe and attractive place to swim and play. And also The Academy Award-winning “The Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala, although nothing remains now except the concrete foundations for the bridge.

Belilena is a famous large cave in Sri Lanka which is very picturesque with the surrounding mountain range. You will also see a beautiful waterfall fallen down above the entrance of the Belilena Cave. Evidence of prehistoric human presence as early as 32,000 years ago was recorded at the site. The skeletal remains of ten individuals were discovered by Paul E. P. Deraniyagala, who attributed them to Balangoda Man (Homo sapiens balangodensis). You will have to go by a vehicle to the edge of a forest and then will have to walk to the cave. If you want we can also arrange a mountain cycle tour to the Belilena Cave and this will be more fun.

Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, the finest of its kind in Asia, the largest of the botanical gardens of Sri Lanka. Peradeniya is at an elevation of 500 meters above sea-level, were tightly bounded on three sides by a loop of River Mahaweli (Great sandy river), the largest river of Sri Lanka. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchid spices, medicinal plants, Flower Garden, Bamboo Collection, The Lake and palm trees.

Rawana Waterfall, The falls have been named after the legendary king Ravana, which is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. According to legend, it is said that Ravana (who was the king of Sri Lanka at the time) had kidnapped princess Sita, and had hidden her in the caves behind this waterfall, now simply known as the Ravana Ella Cave. The reason for the kidnapping is said to be a revenge for slicing off the nose of his sister by Rama (husband of Sita) and his brother Laxmana.
Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. You can put a big expectation of mostly seeing variety of wild animals and birds, Beacouse The park is best known for its variety of wild animals.The park consists of five blocks. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds. Yala hosts a variety of ecosystems ranging from moist monsoon forests to freshwater and marine wetlands. It is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Sri Lanka. Yala harbours 215 bird species including six endemic species of Sri Lanka. The number of mammals that has been recorded from the park is 44, and it has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. 25 individual leopards are estimated to roam in Block I. The elephant herd of Yala contains 300–350 individuals. The sloth bear, leopard, elephant, and wild water buffalo are all threatened species that Yala is harbouring.

Udawalawe National Park is the most visited park in the country. Udawalawe lies on the boundary of Sri Lanka’s wet and dry zones. The habitat surrounding at the reservoir includes marshes, the Walawe river and its tributaries, forests and grasslands. Udawalawe is an important habitat for hundreds of Sri Lankan elephants. The rusty-spotted cat, fishing cat and Sri Lankan leopard are members of the family Felidae present in Udawalawe. The Sri Lankan sloth bear is seldom seen because of its rarity. Sri Lankan sambar deer, Sri Lankan axis deer, Indian muntjac, Sri Lankan spotted chevrotain, wild boar and water buffalo are among other mammal species. Udawalawe is also a good birdwatching site. Endemics such as Sri Lanka spurfowl, red-faced malkoha, Sri Lanka grey hornbill, brown-capped babbler, and Sri Lanka junglefowl are among of the breeding resident birds.

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Reserve is a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals of the country. There are 19 fish species, 33 amphibians, 71 reptile species, 147 bird species, and 44 mammal species in Sinharaja. About 60% of the country’s native birds and all 33 endemic birds including recently discovered Serendib Scops Owl can be seen in Sinharaja. Elusive red-faced malkoha, greenbilled coucal and Sri Lanka blue magpie are also occur here. Because of the dense vegetation, wildlife is not as easily seen as at dry-zone national parks such as Yala. The most common larger mammal is the endemic purple-faced langur. Two endemic species of monkeys, kalu wandura (black monkey) and purple faced leaf monkey can be seen there. Other mammals in Sinharaja include sambur, barking deer, mouse deer, wild boar, golden palm civet, small flying squirrel, fishing cat and rusty spotted cat. A very lucky visitor can get a glimpse of the biggest cat, Sri Lankan leopard, who lives within the deep reaches of the jungle. Reptiles include the endemic green pit viper and hump-nosed vipers, and there are a large variety of amphibians, especially tree frogs. Invertebrates include the endemic common birdwing, butterfly and leeches. The vegetation type of Sinharaja consist mainly of primary tropical lawland wet evergreen forests. In addition there are sub montane forests and sub montane grasslands. Fresh water habitats, rocky terrains and other associated eco systems contribute to the ecological diversity of this unique rain forest.

Moonstone Gem Mines, Moonstone is colourless, very translucent, or almost perfectly transparent feldspar, which in certain direction reflects a bluish, milky light, that has been compared to the light of the moon. You can see how people find gems from the land having dug the land. they wash the mud and filter the gravel in which gems are found. and then Only specimens which show this sheen in a typical manner are cut as gems. Turtle Farm at Kosgoda, Conversation is implemented through finding eggs by their own effort and through local fishermen. after then they are placed in a speciel sandy nursary and after getting baby turtles they moved into their own tanks. After being fed, baby turtles are released to sea.
Boat Riding in Madu River ,The Madu Ganga is a shallow water body in southwest Sri Lanka, which enters the sea at Balapitiya. Madu lagoon is a very wide and a beautiful lagoon in the wet zone of sri lanka. Madu River also has been listed as a Ramsa wetland in the world in 2004. Its estuary and the many mangrove islets on it constitute a complex coastal wetland ecosystem. In has high ecological, biological and aesthetic significance, being home to 303 species of plants belonging to 95 families and to 248 species of vertebrate animals.
